Consultation on a Second Interim Review due to COVID-19 of the 2019 Determination of Airport Charges

Mar 31, 2021, 01:00 by Engine Support

The 2019 Determination on the maximum level of airport charges in Dublin Airport from 2020 to 2024 was published in October 2019. Subsequently, we carried out an Interim Review of the 2019 Determination in 2020 in response to the significant impact of COVID-19 on the aviation industry. The final decision outlined several amendments to the 2019 Determination in relation to 2020 and 2021.

Due to the continued impact of COVID-19 on the aviation industry we are consulting on the possible need for a second Interim Review of the 2019 Determination.  We are seeking the views of stakeholders as to whether the current circumstances constitute substantial grounds to carry out another Interim Review of the 2019 Determination and the desired scope, methodologies and timeline for any such reviews. We also welcome views on any other issues relating to airport charges regulation arising from the current circumstances, which stakeholders may have identified.

Alongside this consultation paper we are also publishingDublin Airport Regulatory Model Strategic Considerations which we received from Dublin Airport in March 2021.

The Consultation document is here. Responses should be marked ‘Response to Consultation on a Second Interim Review ‘ and preferably be sent by email to info@aviationreg.ie. The deadline for responses is 5PM on Wednesday 5 May 2021.
