Any person who wishes to organise and conduct an air display or air show in the State must be the holder of Flying Display Permission issued by the Authority.

Download Aeronautical Notice O.79 for details in obtaining a Flying Display Permission (FDP). In general, flying displays / flights, which require permission, are those that involve operating either below the legal minimum heights or in the vicinity of an assembly of people, or both. Such permissions require alleviation from the Rules of the Air.

Initial application must be communicated to the IAA by phone or writing by the potential Flying Display Director before the application process commences.
