An Approved Training Organisation (ATO) is an organisation staffed, equipped and operated in a suitable environment offering approved flying training, and/or synthetic flight instruction and/or theoretical knowledge instruction for specific flight training
programmes (aeroplane or helicopter). Depending on the approval of the particular organisation, ATOs may offer flight training for both Private Pilot and Commercial Pilot qualifications. However, some ATOs are associated only with an Operator
and may not offer courses outside their own operation. ATOs are issued with an Approval Certificate, detailing the approved courses, which should be displayed at their offices.
For details of the specific courses offered by an ATO, please
contact the ATO directly and speak to the Head of Training (HT).
