24 Hour French Air Traffic Control Strike, Friday 16th September

15 Sep 2022

Passengers departing Irish airports for European destinations on Friday 16th September may experience delays due to a 24-hour strike called by French air traffic controllers. The strike will take place from 04:00 GMT on Friday 16th September to 04:00 GMT on Saturday 17th September. The IAA has received notification of the strike from Eurocontrol, the pan-European body which coordinates the European aviation network.

During this time flight operations will be impacted and passengers flying to French airports or on flights passing through French controlled airspace are likely to experience significant delays. The IAA is working closely with other European air navigation service providers to mitigate delays to scheduled flights, where possible.

Passengers are requested to contact their airlines directly for further information on the impact to European flight operations.
