XL Leisure Group (Ireland) Limited trading as XL Holidays ceases trading

The Commission has been informed that the XL Leisure Group PLC, and a number of its subsidiaries, have been placed in administration by the UK Courts. Consequently, XL Leisure Group (Ireland) Limited, trading as XL Holidays, has informed the Commission that it has ceased trading with immediate effect.

Information for direct customers of XL Holidays - customers abroad

The Commission will seek to make arrangements to allow the repatriation of customers who booked directly with XL Holidays, and who are currently abroad, to return home. Current arrangements are published in a seperate news article on the homepage and can be viewed by clicking on the following link: Information on current arrangements for repatriation of customers of XL Holidays who are currently abroad.

To date the Commission has provided for the repatriation of passengers from Reus, Palma, Bourgas, Mykanos, Zakynthos (Zante), Santorini and Faro. Passengers due to return home from other destinations should either:

  • Seek to make their own arrangements for returning home and claim their costs from the Commission on their return using the XL Leisure Claim form provided here;
  • Or await further information from the Commission regarding possible repatriation flights.

Information for direct customers of XL Holidays - customers who have yet to travel

  • Customers of XL Holidays who have booked directly with this tour operator and paid for holidays and who have yet to commence their journey will be unable to travel. They should make a claim to the Commission for a refund of monies paid using the XL Leisure Claim form provided here.

Customers who booked with tour operators or travel agents using XL Holidays

  • Customers of tour operators and travel agents other than XL Holidays, but who have indirectly purchased an XL Holiday, should contact their tour operator or travel agent directly for further advice.
