Is your radio 8.33kHz compliant?
Ireland
transitioning to EU requirement in early 2026. Pilots urged to plan
accordingly.
As airfields
transition to 8.33 kHz spaced frequencies, the Irish Aviation Authority has
recognised that some additional time is needed for aircraft equipment to be
upgraded to 8.33 kHz-capable. The IAA has issued flexibility to allow airfield
operators and pilots more time to acquire the appropriate radio equipment.
With
widespread frequency changes occurring, pilots are urged to be extra vigilant
during their flight planning to ensure they have information on the current
frequency in use for their flight.
