Statutory Instruments 80 and 105 of 2019 were introduced in Ireland to give effect to Directive (EU) 2015/2302 on package travel and linked travel arrangements. The attached note sets out the Commission's understanding of the licensing and insolvency protection arrangements that apply in Ireland for companies established in Ireland, elsewhere in the EU or outside the EU. The note outlines, for Irish established businesses who sell packages to consumers in the UK, the measures they need to take from 1st January 2021, if they plan to continue to do so. It also sets out what steps UK businesses need to take if they intend to sell packages in Ireland post 1st January 2021.
