Important Update for Customers of Sindaco Ltd/Fanfare - CLAIMS DEADLINE EXPIRED

Wednesday, 19 September 2018: The claims process for Sindaco Limited trading as Fanfare, Irish Film Tours and Buzz Travel has now closed. The Commission is actively processing all received claims to be completed in the coming weeks.

On 20th July, the Commission for Aviation Regulation withdrew the travel agent and tour operator licences of Sindaco Limited, trading as Fanfare, Irish Film Tours and Buzz Travel.

The Commission operates a consumer protection scheme and customers can make a valid claim if they have incurred loss or liability because the inability or failure of the travel agent or tour operator to meet their financial or contractual obligations to the customer under an overseas travel contract[1].  Affected customers are required to make a claim to the Commission in writing and to provide proof of loss[2].  Proof of loss includes relevant receipts, invoices, bank statements, credit card statements and other relevant documents that show actual payments made in relation to the loss claimed.

Customers are required to make a claim before 5pm on Tuesday 18th September 2018.  Any claims received after this date cannot be processed.

To date, the Commission has arranged (with Cello Aviation) for the return home of 141 customers left stranded in Bulgaria on 20th and 27th of July and further flights have been arranged (with Aer Lingus) over the coming weeks to return the remaining 59 customers on completion of their holidays.  Some people made their own way home.  Many other customers never left Ireland.

To date we have received 77 claims and we are processing these in the order of date received.
