Monarch Airlines Collapse

Oct 2, 2017, 01:00 by Engine Support

The Commission for Aviation Regulation notes that Monarch Airlines has cancelled the performance of flights by it following its entry into administration in the U.K. Passengers who had booked flights with the air carrier will be seeking clarity in relation to their rights under Regulation 261 of 2004 particularly in relation to compensation, refunds, re-routing and care and assistance.

The Commission for Aviation Regulation is the national enforcement body in relation to air passenger rights on flights departing from Irish airports. As Monarch Airlines had no flights scheduled to depart from Irish airports, the Commission has no role to play at this time. Passengers are therefore advised to refer to Monarch Airline’s own website and that of the UK CAA for further information.
