Commission launches new online application system for Airline Licensing

Dec 14, 2011, 00:00 by Engine Support

The Commission for Aviation Regulation is pleased to announce the launch of its new online application system in respect of new applications for an operating licence made in accordance with the relevant provisions of Regulation (EC) No 1008/2008.

This legislation regulates the licensing of Community air carriers. An operating licence is an authorisation granted by the competent licensing authority to an undertaking, permitting it to engage in the carriage by air of passengers, cargo and/or mail for remuneration and/or hire as stated in the operating licence.

The new online application system replaces the previous hard copy application form which was available for download from the Commission’s website. Applicants for an operating licence can now apply online at http://www.aviationreg.ie/Apply_for_a_Licence/Default.141.html.

The new online system will simplify the application process for an operating licence by allowing new applicants to submit completed applications quickly and efficiently.

All applications must now be made online. When submitting an application using the new online system, applicants should ensure that they have all relevant documentation to hand so that they can complete the form as comprehensively as possible.

Further information on the requirements for an operating licence and the application process can be obtained from the Commission’s website at http://www.aviationreg.ie/Airline_Licensing__The_Commissions_Role/Default.137.html.
