Irish Aviation Authority Proudly Supports Limerick City of Culture

Friday 1st July 2014: The Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) today announced its support for Limerick City of Culture 2014 and sponsorship of John B Keane’s play ‘Sive’ this autumn. Classified as one of the greatest Irish plays of the 20th Century, ‘Sive’ will run in the Limetree Theatre at Mary Immaculate College, Limerick from Tuesday October 28, 2014 to Saturday, November 1, 2014.

This gripping new production directed by Conall Morrison and performed by the Abbey Players is one of the highlights of this year’s Limerick City of Culture 2014 theatre programme.

“The IAA is committed to business and community initiatives and we are especially delighted to support the Limerick City of Culture and the production of John B. Keane’s classic, ‘Sive’,” said Eamonn Brennan, Chief Executive of the Irish Aviation Authority. “The Shannon region is a powerhouse of aviation and our sponsorship recognises the valuable contribution that Limerick’s NUI and IT provide to the industry – a sector that employs 26,000 people and contributes €4 billion to our national GDP.”

Limerick City of Culture 2014 brings a year-long programme of artistic and cultural celebrations aims to unlock and reveal Limerick’s cultural potential, by turning the city into a national stage showcasing exciting cultural acts, arts and events from the local community in Limerick and including international acts which will make their stage debut in Ireland for the first time.
