May 2019 Air Traffic Statistics
Total flights handled safely by the Irish Aviation Authority in May 2019 was 109,251 movements, an increase of +4.0% over May 2018.
There was an increase of +6.6% in Ireland’s overflight traffic movements (flights, which do not land in Ireland) during May 2019, in comparison to May 2018. IAA’s analysis of North Atlantic Communications flights (Europe /US Flights) saw an increase of +0.7% in May 2019, when compared to May 2018. There were 33,309 overflight traffic movements and 45,958 North Atlantic Communications flights during May 2019.
Commercial terminal traffic for Shannon, Dublin and Cork airports was up by +2.9% in May 2019, when compared to May 2018. Individually, the May 2019 figures for the three State airports, when compared to the same month in the previous year are:
> Commercial terminal flights at Dublin were up by +2.5% with an average of 686 daily commercial movements.
> Commercial terminal flights at Cork were up by +9.9%, with an average of 66 commercial daily movements.
> Commercial terminal flights at Shannon were up by +0.4% with an average of 59 commercial daily movements.
