The existing IAA fees order has been in place since 2007 and there have been no fee increases since that time.
The draft fees order now published for consultation contains a general increase for existing fees of about 1.5%.
Due to the changes in the EASA regulations since 2007, a number of fees have become obsolete and some new fees will have to be applied to cover some of the new approvals required under the EASA implementing rules.
In as many cases as possible the fees have been maintained at a level necessary to recover the costs of providing the required services to the standards required by the EASA regulations and verified by the standardisation inspection system.
The Irish Aviation Authority welcomes feedback on the proposed Fees Order but reminds commentators that the Authority is required to fully recover its costs from the industry unlike many of its European counterparts. The Authority is committed to a responsive and progressive relationship with the industry.
Please make your comments in writing to Irish Aviation Authority, The Times Building, 11-12 D'Olier Street, Dublin 2, on or before the 25th January 2015.
