Recruitment of Aviation Regulator (Chief Executive Officer)

13 Dec 2019

The Irish Government is reorganising how the aviation industry is regulated in Ireland, consolidating all aviation regulatory functions within a reconstituted national aviation regulator – the Irish Aviation Authority – and establishing a separate, standalone commercial State enterprise to provide air navigation and traffic control services.

Applications are sought for the position of Aviation Regulator (CEO) to head up the new regulatory body. Reporting to a board, the Aviation Regulator (CEO) – pending enactment of legislation to give the position full statutory status – will take the lead in overseeing the transition to the establishment of the new regulatory body during 2020. Post-legislation, the Aviation Regulator (CEO) will assume the full statutory position and will lead and direct the organisation to ensure that the new IAA carries out all its regulatory duties effectively and efficiently.
