New Enhanced Online Flight Plan System

02 Aug 2013

The IAA has recently re-introduced functionality on the IAA website which enables pilots to file a flight plan and submit it to the AIS directly from the IAA website. This replaces the original online flight plan filing system which became obsolete with the introduction of flight plan 2012 last November.

This new tool is free to use. Pilots who had previously registered online will automatically have access to the new system. For those who have not registered, simply fill out the online registration form for immediate access.

Additional enhancements include the ability to send a change (CHG), delay (DLA) or cancel (CNL) message. The templates have been designed following the ICAO flight plan format and ICAO Flight plan 2012 requirements. Following comprehensive testing and feedback from some pilots and training schools the system is now ready for use.

By following these easy steps a pilot can file, change, delay or cancel a flight plan:

Go to www.iaa.ie/flightplan

  • Log In (You will need to register, if you have not done so already)
  • Choose the template you require:

FPL (Flight Plan), CHG (Change), DLA (Delay) or CNL (Cancel)

  • Enter the required information
  • Press the “Submit” button and a copy will automatically be sent to your email account
  • Choose another template or Log out
