A BIDAIR Metroliner D-CAVA arriving from Manston in the UK landed on Runway 10 at 0830 this morning (Thursday 7th March). Its nose gear collapsed between Taxiways E4 and E5. Approximately 12 other arriving aircraft were held pending the opening of Runway 16 at 0905 hours, 5 of which opted to divert to Shannon. The accident will be the subject of an investigation by the Air Accident Investigation Unit of the Department of Transport.
