New Director of Safety Regulation
27th March 2015: The IAA wishes to announce the forthcoming appointment of Ralph James as Director Safety Regulation. Ralph brings over thirty years of aviation experience to the role as a pilot, regulator and senior commander and manager.
He was formerly the General Officer Commanding the Irish Air Corps and Director of Military Aviation and is currently the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Irish Defence Forces with responsibility for operations in Ireland and overseas.
Welcoming the appointment, Eamonn Brennan, IAA Chief Executive said “Ralph’s appointment will bring a wealth of experience to the IAA Team. His international experience and knowledge of aviation operations will be a valuable resource to the IAA in the years ahead.”
Ralph will take up his appointment in the next few months on the retirement of Kevin Humphreys, who has served with distinction over many years.
