LIGHT TRAFFIC RESUMES – EXCLUSION ZONE OFF NORTH WEST SCOTLAND

Nov 13, 2015, 00:13 AM by User Not Found

1000 - Wednesday 21st April, 2010: The Irish Aviation Authority confirms that Irish airspace is open all over Ireland. The focus today is likely to be on positioning aircraft and crews and full service by the airlines may take a number of days to recover. Passengers should consult airline websites before travelling to the airport for flights.

The IAA continuously monitors the situation and will issue a statement if the exclusion zone threatens Irish airspace today or in the days to come. You can see the exclusion zone, as of 0700hrs local at https://www.cfmu.eurocontrol.int/PUBPORTAL/gateway/spec/index.html

The IAA is satisfied that commercial air travel outside of the exclusion zone does not present a safety risk. Airlines and maintenance organisations have agreed to an increased regime of risk management and maintenance inspections, to ensure that no threat is posed to passenger safety.

Full service by the airlines may take a number of days. The IAA has no information on any individual flights and passengers should consult airline websites before travelling to the airport for flights.

There will be a further update at 1300hrs today, Wednesday 21st April, 2010.
