Dublin Airport Operations - Statement from the Irish Aviation Authority 17:00, 11th July 2008

Nov 13, 2015, 00:12 AM by User Not Found

Air Traffic Control (ATC) operations at Dublin are now running at over 80% of capacity, which is sufficient to meet demand during most periods of the day. At peak times some delays are being experienced, which can sometimes have a knock-on effect during the day. However, factors outside the direct control of the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA), such as weather or congestion in European airspace, may also contribute to flight delays.

The cause of the problem with the ATC system has been identified and a comprehensive system evaluation process by the suppliers, Thales ATM, is ongoing. In the interest of safety, the IAA will continue to take an incremental approach towards operating the system at normal capacity.

The IAA regrets the inconvenience caused to our customers and the travelling public for the continuing restrictions arising from the recent technical problem with its ATC system at Dublin Airport.

The IAA acknowledges the ongoing support of the airlines, the Dublin Airport Authority and the IAA's operational staff during this period.
