Dublin Airport Operations - Statement from the Irish Aviation Authority 09:30 11th July

Nov 13, 2015, 00:12 AM by User Not Found

The Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) can confirm that operational capacity at Dublin Airport is now running at over 80 per cent. This ensures air traffic control services will meet demand for the majority of the day. However, some delays are likely to occur at peak times. Such delays may also be the result of factors out of the direct control of the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA), such as weather or congestion in European airspace.

The cause of the problem with the Air Traffic Management system (ATM) has been identified and a comprehensive evaluation process by the suppliers, Thales ATM, is ongoing. In the interest of safety, the IAA will continue to take an incremental approach towards operating the system at normal capacity.

The Irish Aviation Authority regrets the inconvenience caused to our customers and the travelling public for the continuing restrictions arising from the recent technical problem with its ATM system at Dublin Airport.

The IAA acknowledges the ongoing support of the airlines, the Dublin Airport Authority and the IAA's operational staff during this period.
