At the meeting of the Council of Ministers for Transport in Luxembourg,on 13th June 2008, Mr. Noel Dempsey, T.D. Minister for Transport and his counterpart representing the UK Rt Hon Rosie Winterton MP, Minister of State for Transport announced the finalisation of an agreement to improve the performance of the air navigation system through the establishment of a Functional Airspace Block
