The Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) is a commercial semi-state body that oversees the safety and security of Irish civil aviation, provides air traffic management (ATM) services in Irish airspace and at State airports and communication services on the eastern North Atlantic. With turnover of €180 million, the IAA receives no funding from the State and circa 80% of our income is earned from international business.
The Authority is seeking applications from suitably qualified engineers for inclusion on a panel of Systems Monitoring and Control (SMC) Engineers to be based in either Dublin ATC or Shannon Centre. The ideal candidate must have a Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical or Electronic Engineering and should have at least 1-2 years’ experience.
SMC Engineer work assignments include monitoring and control of operational Air Traffic Management systems as well as certifying equipment for use by Air Traffic Control. The systems in use include communications, surveillance, navigation and flight data processing. The SMC Engineer will be expected to analyse and resolve faults within their level of competence in a real time environment. The SMC Engineer will receive comprehensive training on all systems in use by the IAA. A full job description will be available to shortlisted candidates.

The salary scale for the SMC Engineer is €35,286, €40,788, €46,285, €49,037, €52,813, €57,285, €60,032, €62,783, €65,539, €67,253. This is an all-inclusive salary scale. SMC Engineers will be required to work full shift duties covering a 24/7 365 day operation
