Air Navigation Services (ANS) – Operations, Dublin Control Tower Building, Huntstown, Cloghran, Co Dublin

Reports To (Job Title)

Station Managers and Operational ATCO’s

Job Purpose

To perform such duties as required in the ANS Operations, Training and Administration Areas.

Direct Reports


Main Duties and Responsibilities


Flight Data duties in ANS Units.


Maintain Traffic Movement log.


Operate appropriate ANS equipment as required.


Process flight data in accordance with ATC instructions.


Assist the Tower Controller in the observations of aerodrome traffic.

Perform Data Assistant Training duties as required.


Update, review and load computer data.


Process routine requests from other services/agencies.


Amend and maintain ANS documentation.


Carry out clerical/secretarial/receptionist duties including the operation of PCs, photocopiers, fax machines etc.


Assist in DA training as required.


Operate the telephone system.


Perform other related duties as assigned.


In addition to the duties listed above, Data Assistants in receipt of the Higher Duties Allowance will perform the Flight Data Control function in Dublin Airport as specified in the Dublin MATS Manual. 

Skills Required

Minimum requirement is to have passed at least five subjects in the Leaving Certificate or equivalent (including Mathematics)

Excellent Timekeeping, Communication and Interpersonal skills required.


Internal:  In addition to paragraph 3 above liaise with ANS HQ, Cork, and Shannon Engineering.

External:  Dublin Airport Authority, Airline Operators and other Airspace users and Adjacent ANSPs.  In addition the jobholder may deal with members of the public on requests for information.
