The Irish Aviation Authority in partnership with Institute of Technology Carlow are now currently offering a Bachelor of Business in Aviation and Transport and a Bachelor of Business in Emergency Services. This is a 4 stage program leading to an honours degree in Business with an exit award at the end of each academic year.
This course has now been running since 2004 and is now well established as a programme of choice within the sector. There is now participation from over thirty eight companies across the aviation, transport and emergency services sector in Cork, Dublin and Shannon. The Bachelor in Business (Hons) was launched in 2007 and has been very well received by the industry. In all, there are over 200 students participating in both programmes. .
The Irish Aviation Authority is committed to the support of aviation and transport industry development in Ireland and, following representations from the industry, a decision was taken to establish an Education and Training Advisory Council in order to identify the industry's requirements. This Advisory Council alongside the IAA work together to establish Ireland as a centre of excellence for training services and consultancy, bringing the leading providers of the aviation, transport and emergency services sectors together as an Ireland Inc brand initiative and supported by Enterprise Ireland.
